I mean the real kind! The boundary between real(ity)and virtual friends has s-l-o-w-l-y become a #blurredline in some of our minds. The rate in which people are acquiring "friends"on social media speaks for itself. Some think posting 'errthang' that comes to mind, or a bunch of likes and you're somehow kindred spirits.The X amount of "thumbs up" and smiley faces that people..."shiiit!..my bad",. FRIENDS! (got to be more careful,I nearly offended a generation) click in your direction, The more and more SHARING you do?!?
Nowadays the landscape of America has changed before our very eyes. This post became special to me in the middle of writing. I had an unannounced guest show up on my doorstep after 25yrs...

Diary of a Wimpy A$$ Kid(Man)..

Stop..stop! Hold the hell on. I've written about the sign of the times lately and "nice guys" finishing first. Somewhere in the proverbial laundry chute a few signals may have been crossed...A WIMP! was #not to be mistaken for being a nice guy. Being a wimp is something you may not readily admit(I can dig it). Obviously it's something you wouldn't shout from the rafters, but something that's definitely curable. Security for women is one of the most popular answers given(even from the most independent) when asked questions about what they need to"FEEL" in a relationship(PG-13 version ladies)...

Too cool to work?...I hope a passing trend.

It's 2014 people! I hope Too cool is NOT the new Ish! I'm talking about today's lack of work ethic in adult fully formed men! I remember years ago hard working was a trait to be proud of and men had to have it across the board in spade period! It was understood without question. To get the pretty girl to go out on a date... The job/promotion or business whatever was needed, but hard work and elbow grease was required. I've since been witnessing the coddling of men in America specifically.... As a man that's whom I address with a perplexed look.Understand when I say this post addresses a trend(hopefully passing) of men being too cool to work(a regular j.o.b. mind you). A trait needed to survive and navigate today's world and a necessity you can't afford to go without.I was always under the impression working hard for your money...legally!..(sigh,sad I still have to include that disclaimer but whatever man) was great for your self esteem(swag) and did more for your look than any materialistic item you could buy. Ask for a clue or buy a vowel, #Alex Tribek is rapping answers on jeopardy! He may give you a few: What is you need one?..answer: A work ethic!! Tightened up soft shoe!! Ask around..know that sex appeal comes with a steady job(or able to maintain one) and a work ethic attached to it..always did.There are other things in life that you may need help with..But This..THIS ISH RIGHT HERE!! It's alll you homeboy no excuses. Don't get left behind keeping your #swag alive or busy trying to #turn up saying #it is what it is...I'm just sayn.MM

The Pain in the A$$ guy!!!

The pain... the person that chafes areas of your body you can't soothe in public...you know'em. Even when in your presence it hurts your feelings not to lay hands on them(I've just seen Due Date..so I know you've warned this person about when you see red) The most baffling thing about this person is they know and could care less about being "phucking" annoying to anyone within earshot. Anything serious going on and they seem to find time to crack an inappropriate joke/gesture(I was just playing is the quote of the moment or a dumbfounded expression of I just 'shat' my pants look on their face). No one takes you remotely serious, why you ask?

The "Nice guy" that finishes first..

I've noticed the tide has changed. The whole movement is sort of..well..you know..suspect? I'm pleased... and IIIII like it! The whole cliche' of nice guys finishing last! became one for good reason. We've all seen this shinning moments' favorite nice guy actor James Marsden (sorry but the shoe fits) figuratively speaking... get the "Heisman to the grill"! In a lot of movies JUST for smiling and being a nice guy! Even all around do-gooder and super nice guy Superman(Returns) couldn't resist a chance to 'chump' Mr. Nice Guy. He shows back up on the scene after being gone for awhile lets just say, politely and with a smile(no doubt) hands Mr. nice guy another undeserved "Heisman to the grill" and leaves with Lois! go figure.
Leave it to the evolution of times and listening to Dr. Phil! I'm no Nostradamus, I'm not even Cleo! but the prediction of nice guys finishing last is/has become passe'(see once again Dr. Phil) I remember  years back It was 'Hip to be square'(Huey Lewis and the News circa 1987). At times when we least expect it, WHAM!..woogedy boogedy...Times change and not always for the better, this time though it's for the better(my 2 cents). Men, I know you hear the outcry in all forums, because I do that chivalry is not dead! Why not better your chances? If there's so much of a demand on something. We(men) are obviously the world's 'supplier'...I'm waiting for the 1+1= 2 thing to kick in... Once that happens read Two more blogs, you should be o.k. by morning, repeat as needed...You're welcome.MM
